Julio Urías Was Arrested for Domestic Violence Twice

In 2019, the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of an incident in a parking lot, and witnesses told them they saw a man, later identified as Urías, shove a woman, who fell over. The woman was later revealed to be Perez.

Despite her and Urías alleging that the incident was only a verbal altercation, the pitcher was arrested after surveillance proved Urías had pushed the woman. The Dodgers said at the time:

"We learned about the alleged incident this morning and are in the process of gathering information. [...] The very allegation of domestic violence must be taken seriously and addressed promptly, and we will cooperate fully with the authorities and Major League Baseball to ensure that that happens in this case."

Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred placed Urías on paid administrative leave following the incident. However, Urías was recently arrested on felony domestic violence charges again in September 2023, joining other celebrities accused of domestic abuse, such as Chris Brown and Jason Kidd.
