Michael Trizano and Seung Woo Choi hit the floor in a rare double knockdown at Madison Square Garden in New York on Saturday night.

The featherweight duo squared off at UFC 281 on the undercard of Israel Adesanya’s highly anticipated trilogy fight with his old kickboxing rival, Alex Pereira.

Just 20 seconds into the UFC pay-per-view prelim, Trizano and Choi exchanged big shots and both fell to their backsides before popping up their feet.

Not long after, Trizano was on the floor for a second time after eating a hard right hand but was able to get back to his feet quickly once again.

The Ultimate Fight 27 winner continued to slug it out despite getting dropped twice early and began to find success as the first round progressed.

However, he was forced to take several big punches from Choi who ultimately ran into another left hook from Trizano which put him down for good.

Trizano expertly followed up and finished off Choi who was a significant betting favourite heading into his fight against a man who lost three of his four prior UFC fights.

Despite the spectacular win, the father-to-be will not be rewarded with a $50,000 fight-night bonus after he missed weight for his UFC 281 fight.

The fight was the final on Trizano’s contract who told Laura Sanko post-fight that he came into UFC 281 with a kill-or-be-killed mentality.

"There was no way I was going to be denied,” he said.

“Not with this opportunity. I was going to leave it all out there. It was either I was gonna get flatlined or he was.”

"My opponent was a game opponent. You know, the matchmakers did a good job but that’s what I want. I want tough fights, I don’t want to fight anyone who is not good.

The 30-year-old insisted that he was not hurt during the double knockdown but expects it to go viral, he added: "It was just a flash knockdown but it’s definitely going to be a meme though I’m going to see that for a while."
