Ha, you knew this was going to happen. I’m shocked that it took four long months after the Wedding of the Year for one of the tabloids to claim that George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin-Clooney are totally headed for divorce. To be fair, I’ve been quietly noting the harbingers of doom as well (like, I can’t believe George made Amal spend their first Christmas as a married couple with Rande and Cindy), but as we saw at the Golden Globes, George married Amal for a reason. She is “his equal” and he’s still selling her to all of us. She is the Unicorn. Now, George has spent the last decade in relationships that ended around the two year mark, so let’s just give George and Amal some time, shall we? Meanwhile, what does In Touch have to say?
According to In Touch, the Clooneys’ marriage is “beset with jealousy, arguments and other relationship-wrecking behavior.”
The magazine says “Amal’s disdain for Hollywood and many of George’s pals, her increasingly diva-like behavior, as well as fights over starting a family, have friends convinced it’s all gone wrong for the couple.” One alleged “insider” tells the outlet, “I think they’ll divorce. There’s no way it can last. And it’s going to be very expensive for George.”
“He’s trying hard,” a friend tells In Touch, with reference to Clooney’s very public expression of love to his wife during the Golden Globes. “But behind the scenes, he and Amal are fighting.”
A so-called “source” explains that Amal has been “trying to control George’s every move” since their wedding, annoying him about everything from his clothes to his friends to his career choices. The magazine portrays her as a nagging diva causing endless arguments.
“Everyone thought they were the perfect couple, but it’s all blowing up in George’s face,” the “insider” tells the tabloid. “The fairy tale is over.”
Gossip Cop also spoke to Clooney’s rep, who said: “These stories are made up for the sole purpose of selling magazines.” Yes, but what if even a slice of this is true? What do you believe? I think George married Amal without really getting to know her. I wouldn’t be surprised if she IS a drama queen, just because that what those stupid white gloves at the Globes said to me: LOOK AT ME GLOVES GLOVES I AM SO HIGH FASHION I AM DRAMA. And here’s something else I believe: IF Amal and George ever split, it will be a mess. Never divorce a lawyer. They have a lot of lawyer friends. They will hire the best divorce lawyer ever and it will be a huge mess.
Let’s see, what else? Some random sources claim that Anna Wintour is desperate to put Amal on the cover of Vogue. Anna is trying to “secure an interview and cover shoot with Mrs C for an upcoming edition.” Amal already did a photoshoot with Vogue just before her wedding – she allowed Vogue into her wedding gown fitting with Oscar de la Renta. Plus, Anna was in Venice for their wedding. So… yeah, this wouldn’t surprise me at all. Then again, Amal’s most powerful asset these days is that she’s an enigma wrapped in a mystery, wearing crap gloves. If we actually read an interview with her, would we still find her fascinating?
