General Hospital Spoilers: Friday, January 20 Recap – Cam Catches Shirtless Dex With Josslyn – Nik Loses Spoon Island To Ava

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, January 20, reveals that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) told Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) that his marriage was over and that Ava Jerome (Maura West) had been promised Spoon Island – including Wyndemere – in the divorce settlement.

Nikolas refused to let Victor take away his home, but Victor reminded him of the storage locker evidence along with the written and recorded confessions.

Although Nik pointed out that amnesiac Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) couldn’t testify, Victor was nearly out of patience.

Victor warned that the next time Nikolas defied him would be the last and urged him to sign the deed of Spoon Island over to Ava before he returned.

At GH, Ava was distracted during a follow-up appointment related to her stabbing, so she jokingly wondered if Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) had a procedure that could remove her heart altogether.

Austin suggested that if they figured it out, he could be the first test subject.

After Austin and Ava bonded over their breakups and Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) pain, Ava thought it’d be a real shame to remove Austin’s good heart.

Afterward, Austin found Mason (Nathanyael Grey) in his office sucking on a lollipop.

Mason mentioned that Austin had turned a patient away that he’d been ordered to treat.

The boss wasn’t happy, but Austin was done taking orders and hinted about having nothing left to lose.

Mason proved Austin wrong by offering him a lollipop and pointing out that Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) daughter wouldn’t take one either.

Although Mason suggested Georgie Spinelli (Lily Fisher) had perhaps been warned about strangers, he noted that he wouldn’t be a stranger the next time he saw her.

Austin grabbed Mason to rough him up right as Ava interrupted the faceoff.

In Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) dorm room, she confided in Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) about Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) keeping the secret of Nina being Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) birth mother.

Although Josslyn felt terrible for Willow and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), she also felt bad for Carly.

Josslyn thought Michael needed a safe place to unload his anger and feel like he had a purpose, so she suspected that was fueling his Carly fury.

Josslyn also wished that Dex would quit working for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), so he admitted he was going to within six months.

Dex just had to finish something first, but he promised to tell Josslyn everything once the job was done.

Josslyn trusted Dex and was grateful that he wouldn’t be hanging around Sonny or Nina anymore.

Dex assured Joss that it was OK to take a breather from all the family drama and made love to her before they ordered a pizza.

At Kelly’s, Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) greeted Cameron Webber (William Lipton) when she arrived with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton).

Since Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) never came around, Violet worried Liz didn’t like her anymore.

Finn and Cameron reassured Violet, who then wondered if it was her daddy who didn’t like Elizabeth now.

Liz walked in on the conversation and accepted an invite to have a brownie with Violet.

Finn tried to explain the breakup, but Violet was confused until Liz pitched in later.

Violet got reassurance that Elizabeth would always be family and was pleased when Liz agreed to come on a camping trip with the boys.

In a moment alone with Liz, Cameron found out Josslyn’s family was going through a nightmare right now.

That left Cam feeling awful since he was so cold to Josslyn earlier.

Cameron rushed off to make things right and landed at Josslyn’s dorm room, where shirtless Dex answered thinking it was the food delivery.

As Cam glared at Dex, Josslyn realized they’d been busted.

Back with Elizabeth, she was alone at Kelly’s when Carolyn Webber (Denise Crosby) showed up and called out to “Lizzie.”

Liz gaped as she processed the news of her mom’s arrival in Port Charles.

At GH again, Michael wanted the whole story of Carly’s secret-keeping, so she admitted to having the firefighter lie and sabotaging Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) investigation.

Michael accused Carly of being like Nina based on all the lying, manipulation and double-dealing.

Carly insisted she was trying to protect their family, so Michael admitted he would’ve been tempted to keep quiet in her shoes.

That said, Michael would’ve ultimately let Willow decide what she wanted to do about Nina.

Carly talked about having tunnel vision and assured Michael that she was sorry.

When Michael asked where things stood with Drew, Carly admitted he was very disappointed in her.

Michael didn’t think Carly should give up hope since Drew was a very forgiving guy.

Since Carly worried about Michael cutting her out of his life like Sonny, she asked if he could forgive her.

Michael acknowledged that he had a long way to go before he could be as forgiving as Willow, but he needed Carly in his life just like Willow and the kids would.

Carly said she needed Michael, too – more than he knew. Michael accepted Carly’s embrace as she cried in relief.

Next, Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) reached his breaking point with Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), who wouldn’t stop pushing him to look into his potential misdiagnosis.

After Marshall shouted and acted like Portia should mind her own business, he apologized – and Portia did the same since she put so much pressure on him.

Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) heard the commotion and got updates on the difference of opinion before siding with Portia.

There was talk about whether Marshall’s belief that he had schizophrenia held him back rather than the disease itself.

Marshall finally ranted about schizophrenia ruining his life and forcing him to abandon his family.

If the diagnosis was wrong, then all Marshall’s sacrifices had been for nothing.

Curtis and Portia still thought Marshall should find out the truth. That way, Marshall could face a new chapter that was a whole lot better than the old one.

General Hospital spoilers say Curtis will hold out hope that Marshall will get a mental health evaluation and some genetic testing.
