Dillon Danis has been leaning on one of the biggest stars in combat sports ahead of his boxing debut.

After months of trash talk, the 30-year-old is set to fight Logan Paul on the undercard of KSI vs Tommy Fury at the AO Arena in Manchester on Saturday evening.

Pre-fight, Danis has been supported by UFC legend Conor McGregor.

The 2-0 Bellator MMA fighter first linked up with ‘Notorious’ in 2016 ahead of the Irishman's rematch with Nate Diaz - they have remained good friends ever since.

"He talks to me every day," Danis told Mirror Fighting about McGregor.

"I talked to him this morning, actually. On the mental side, he sends me voice notes, videos and certain things that I should do. He's always there for me even if we're not there physically, mentally we talk every single day."

McGregor wanted to coach Danis ahead of his squared circle debut, but they have been unable to get in the gym together during camp.

Danis was invited to train with the former dual-weight UFC champion in Cannes but felt compelled to stay in New York following the birth of his first child.

He added: "For the baby thing. it was literally when he was being born and I had the press conference and then he was in France, it was just a lot of travel.

“We trained for almost two months before that in New York boxing every day so we're always training together."

McGregor has been unwavering in his support of Danis.

The 35-year-old quickly let rap icon Drake know he’d made a mistake when he shared proof of his $850,000 bet on Paul to win by KO, which if it comes off will return $1,351,500.

McGregor wrote in the comment section: “Dillon all day!”

It’s currently unclear if he will make the trip to Manchester to watch Danis fight live.

‘Mystic Mac’ has his own scrap to prepare for after recently re-entering the UFC’s drug testing pool ahead of a much-discussed clash with Michael Chandler.

McGregor is expected to return to the Octagon for the first time since July 2021 next April, after his pregnant fiancée, Dee Devlin, welcomes their fourth child.
