Kylie Minogue to stage a series of comeback concerts in Melbourne

Australian singer Kylie Minogue will be playing a series of comeback concerts in her hometown of Melbourne. Minogue has headed back to the studio and plans to play live after having battled breast cancer last year:

The pop princess - who is recovering after battling breast cancer for the last year - is planning a string of shows at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena in November.

A source is quoted in Britain's The People newspaper as saying: "She insists on Melbourne for her family, friends and home town supporters.

"And her people have already pencilled in the dates in November - the height of summer Down Under - to guarantee a booking."

The singer - who was forced to cancel several dates of her sell-out 'Showgirl' world tour after she was diagnosed with the disease last May - is already practicing for the concerts.

Manager Terry Blamey said Kylie, who got the all-clear from cancer four months ago, is "going to come back better than ever".

Meanwhile, the star is also back in the recording studio.

The 37-year-old said: "I'm feeling much better but I'm taking things slowly. It's just good to be back. I've had a great week in the studio here and things couldn't be better.

"I'm not sure when my next single is coming out. I'm just working as fast as I can and getting it all done."

That's great news for Minogue and her new album is sure to be a hit.

Here she is outside a recording studio on May 11th. She looks so happy! [via]

Pauly Shore amazes everyone by declaring that he dated Kylie Minogue

Pauly Shore and Kylie Minogue dated for a short time after they met on the set of his 1997 movie, Biodome, which Minogue has called her "worst career move." The two didn't last once Minogue figured out who Shore was and went back to England, and Shore is still crying into his beer over it:

Shore says, "I fell in love with her... big time. I didn't know who she was and she didn't know who I was and we just had a great time together. I just fell in love with her personality. I'm like, 'Oh my God, this girl's adorable.'"

The couple spent a romantic holiday in the Bahamas together, and then Shore took the singer to Las Vegas for the first time. He adds, "She loved it because it was so cheesy. She was like laughing at the whole thing."

The couple tried to maintain their love affair, but distance eventually drove them apart. Shore says, "She was over (in London) and I was over in Los Angeles and I guess she started dating some other guy and broke my heart."

Even though it still breaks his heart, Pauly should be commended for being able to talk about it nine years later, just like Angelina Jolie's ex, Jenny Shimizu.

Minogue is doing well as she recovers from breast cancer. She has written a comeback album called "Lessons" that should be out in 2007. She also plans to sing a duet with her boyfriend Olivier Martinez.

Shore had somewhat of a comeback with the indie flick "Pauly Shore is Dead" that came out in 2004, and a 2005 TBS reality show, Minding the Store that centered around Shore trying to run his family's comedy club.

Here is Minogue vacationing in France. [via] The inset picture is a small screencap from Biodome in which Shore's character grabs Minogue's butt. Shore is kissing Joey Lauren Adams in other picture, but it's so small that it's hard to tell. Shore is playing his 90s typecast slacker role while Minogue is a foreign scientist on the film. We're sorry for knowing this. Minogue was not in Son in Law, so obviously we just put her head on top of another actress' body. Screencap [via]
